I am so truly amazed by God with him all things are possible. My husband when were first married was very involved with Special Olympics he served on the board and ran in the Marine Marathon in Washington DC with one special athlete and came in first place . He loved all these children and young adults with special needs and was always doing some crazy or daring fundraisers to raise money for the Special Olympics or Buck A Cup. Some of these included sitting on a billboard all weekend without coming down .. believe me when he came down he stunk from head to toe !
After having two children of our own Allen often ask me to adopt a child with Down Syndrome this is something he was determined to do, I wasn't quit ready and wasn't sure I could handle it with two small children. I prayed about it and it wasn't until November of 2009 I was given the answer at a Fuddruckers in Pigeon Forge, TN where we were on a family weekend get away. A little boy with down syndrome was sitting at a table near us he kept looking at me smiling and I would look at him and smile. My daughter dropped her cookie token and he bent over and picked up for her she said thank you he returned with your welcome and then gave me the thumbs up....it was so cute. When his family was done eating he walked over to our table and straight to me and gave me the biggest hug and said thank you, I love you. You can't imagine the feelings that came over me, I immediately starting crying I knew that this little man had said it all and gave me the answer that I was waiting on...it was time. When we came home we starting searches for that special child that was meant to be ours. We were given several websites from a friend who served with my husband on the board of Special Olympics. We were drawn to Reece's Rainbow automatically we both looked at the website for days. One night we decided to show each other who we had picked out, not knowing that we had picked out the same little boy, Duncan !
When we started we had $0 for this journey, my husband was worried to death and kept questioning the whole money issue. I told him to have FAITH God had led us to this he won't let us down he will provide. I bought a picture to remind us Faith makes ALL things possible. God is truly amazing after a few fundraisers, family and friends we have now raised over 21,000.00 I can't even start to express to you how I feel, my heart feels so big and full of Love and I can not wait to meet and hold this child that God intended to give us all along even before we knew.

Allison, I will do my best and find your little guy and take some pictures, I know exactly how you feel and I wished someone had gone there before me so I could catch a glimpse of Duncan. It is so hard not to know how they are or what they may look like now.
